My name is Jess.  I am 16 years old, and I have been training at Danceworld since the age of 2.  I love dancing at Danceworld as its like one big family and I have made so many friends here over the years.  What makes it really special is all the teachers that have been amazing and so supportive, and I have learnt so much from them. 

I have recently completed my elementary grade with the British Association of Teachers of Dance (BATD) in ballet, modern and tap. I have also taken many other classes at Danceworld including musical theatre, street, cheerleading as well as competing in solos, duets and with troupe since the age of 8 in many different competitions, events and shows which have all been fantastic.

Throughout my time at Danceworld, I have been given many great opportunities.  One of my favourites being performing at Disneyland Paris in 2022, which was so special dancing on the stage including a solo and a duet in front of so many people, as well as having an amazing time with all my friends. Another great opportunity was being put forward for ballet, modern and tap BATD scholarships in 2022 and 2023, which I was placed in the top 6 for tap in both years, which was a huge achievement for me. I am also looking forward to competing in them again this October.

Thanks to all my training at Danceworld I have been able to successfully audition for Dang Associates and Performers College Elite which has given me an amazing opportunity to work with many industry professionals which have really inspired me and benefited my training. This year I was lucky enough to gain a place in the Towngate Theatre panto- Jack and The Beanstalk, which I cannot wait to perform in all throughout Christmas as part of the Young Ensemble.

I am now continuing my training alongside Danceworld at The Dang on the Level 3 Diploma in Musical Theatre with a part scholarship I was awarded, which was an amazing achievement. I am so grateful for Danceworld for everything over the years, as I wouldn’t have the opportunities I have or the love for performing I have without everyone. I am delighted to be selected as head girl!
