JOSH HEAD BOY

2020

I have been attending Danceworld Stage School for almost 10 years. I started when I was 4 and half doing street dance and musical theatre. I have made some great friends and been taught by some fantastic teachers over the years. I remember my very first show the year after I joined Danceworld and have loved taking part in every show since then. My best show so far was A Journey through time, where I got to play Doctor Who and even did a stand-up routine!

For a short time I tried Ballet, Tap and Modern classes, and although I did OK and got through my exams I decided that I wanted to concentrate on Street and Musical Theatre and more recently I have also joined the Drama classes and hope to take my LAMDA exams next year.

I have been lucky enough to use my acting skills in a TV advert and I also joined the touring cast of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the Cliffs Pavilion Theatre.

In the past year I have focused a lot more on solo singing lessons and have competed in a festival, this is something I would like to continue with in the future.

Joshua received Distinction in his Grade 6 LAMDA exams in Musical Theatre and Acting and would like to continue taking his LAMDA exams and work towards his teachers exams

Joshua won the Musicality Award at The British Arts Awards finals in London 2022

I am taking Performing Arts GCSE at school, and I hope that this, along with the help, support and great teaching that I have had from Danceworld will give me the right foundation to eventually go to Performing Arts or Drama college in future.

Joshua has received a scholarship to go to Tring Park College in London
