Laindon (Main Studios)

Our school in Laindon, near Basildon, offers a full range of classes for ages 18 months to adults running seven days a week at our fully equipped dance studios.

Parent and toddler classes (Danceworld Dotties)

Brand new dance classes for children and parents. Great fun while keeping fit and being active. Subjects taught include ballet, mime, tap, modern and cheerleading. This exciting class runs for 45 mins and caters for children who can walk upto pre-school age.

 

 

Pre-school (Starlites)

Baby classes are 60 minutes long and cover the basic elements of ballet, modern and tap dance. The children are taught disciplines of being in a dance class, and the required posture and steps to help them on their way to being the stars of the future. Starlite examinations are taken at this level.

 

Foundation (First Steps)

At 5 to 6 years of age children progress into First Steps where their skills increase. They learn how to perform steps with correct technique and how to put steps together to create a dance routine. Mime and character work is part of their study also at this age. They are encouraged to take their First Steps examinations and study for their Pre-Primary grades. Further class options from this grade upwards include Musical Theatre, Drama, Singing and Cheerleading.

 

Year 1 and above

From the age of 6 and beyond all students take their examinations in grade order commencing with Primary Grade and continuing through to Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced in performing arts.

 

 

 

Danceworld Troupe (Junior and Senior)

These Troupes will appear in shows, cabarets, fetes and festivals including Her Majesty's Theatre, The Royal Albert Hall, Disneyland Paris and many more. 100% commitment required, fantastic personality and all round great performance skills are needed.

 

Teacher's Courses

Professional courses are available at Danceworld for those wanting to teach. Teaching diplomas are awarded at Associate Level and those who take up teaching dance as a profession may continue to Membership and Fellowship levels with the British Association of Teachers of Dancing or an Associate Licentiate and Fellowship with the International Dance Teachers Association .

 

Saturday Dance Theatre Club (DTC)

Fantastic opportunity for your children to sing, dance and act on one day for 2 hours at just £9. We have 2 groups under 6 and 7+. Both groups will learn how to sing with a qualified singing teacher; street dance, act and cheerlead in 2 hours. Exams can be taken in all subjects taught or just do them for fun! All children will be able to join in with our biennial shows.

Stock and Corringham

Our school in Stock Village and our new branch in Corringham, offers a smaller selection of the classes offered at Laindon, and has encouraged children to acquire the skills necessary to begin a career in dance. Beyond grade 1, classes are offered at our main studios in Laindon.
